Istituzione Gianbecchina – Istituto Di Alta Cultura – Città Di Gangi

Founded in 1996, it has been fully operational since May 30, 2000 when its Board of Directors was formed and activities began with setting up the Pinacoteca Gianbecchina, the art gallery which is still managed by Istituzione Gianbecchina. Today the association also organizes cultural and artistic activities in different periods of the year. Its headquarters is at the Palazzo Sgadari, in Corso G. F. Vitale 102, a beautiful noble palace of the nineteenth century, also home to the Museo Civico di Gangi (Gangi City Museum), Pinacoteca Gianbecchina (art gallery) and the Museo delle Armi (Musum of Arms). The Institution is a non-profit that carries out cultural and educational activities, promoting, producing and designing cultural, scientific, publishing and other related activities. The aim is to work for the social and cultural growth of the Gangi community and Madonie area. The activities of the Institution are: - Promote and enhance every expression of experimental and popular art inspired by aesthetic thought, by history and local tradition, and make it important for the community; - Create a stable structure that can contribute, through art and culture, to better knowledge, promotion and development of the territory; - Promote, produce, organize and manage, also through agreements with other public or private organizations, different cultural and artistic activities, vocational training centers for arts and crafts that will boost artistic and cultural production; - Set up and manage, in cooperation and partnership with other public and private actors, art or applied art workshops, art galleries, as well as centers for collection, conservation and promotion of anything that testifies the civilization, history, customs and traditions of the people.
