At 1600 meters above sea level, in the heart of Madonie, the most important Sicilian mountain chain, at the location called Piano Battaglia, there is the historical CAI (Italian Alpine Club) shelter called Giuliano Marini, known by all as RIFUGIO MARINI. Active since 1947, in the 70s it became a meeting place for all the Sicilian mountain lovers. It was closed in 2001 for full renovation and reopened in December 2012 to the joy of all tourists who appreciate the quality of hotel services and good food in all seasons of the year. The shelter has 19 rooms, all with shower, and it can accommodate 68 guests. All spaces are simply furnished and cozy and the rooms are located on 3 levels and include double rooms, 4-bed rooms and 6-bed rooms. The restaurant has 120 seats and promotes local cuisine with typical menu of the Madonie area. The dishes are prepared daily with care and will surprise the guests, although they belong to simple cuisine. Guests are offered many little delights matched with good wines, liqueurs and grappa, Italian grape distillate. The bar service is always available with hot chocolate, homemade desserts and a wide assortment of herbal infusions, perfect as a good night drink.
