The Mandralisca Museum is located in the heart of Cefalu, in the palace that was the home of Baron Pirajno Mandralisca.
In the gallery you can admire paintings of different periods and various subjects. The most famous painting is "Portrait of a Man", a panel painting by Antonello da Messina (circa 1470).
The archaeological collection is the result of research of Baron Mandralisca carried out mostly in the island of Lipari. The piece that stands out is the vase "Tuna seller" (fourth century B.C.) depicting scenes of everyday life.
The numismatic collection includes coins of the most important mints of ancient Sicily and Lipari, with Greek, Roman and Siceliotes coinage. The museum also houses a rich malacological collection (study of the Mollusca) and antiquarian section, as well as an extensive library of approximately 3,700 volumes on different subjects of humanities, history and philosophy, ancient manuscripts, incunables (books printed before 1501) and books printed in the 16th century.
