Associazione Haliotis No Profit

The Association claims to be an active player for the valorisation, the use, the study and the research in the field of scientific culture in general and of geological culture within the Italian area and the Parco delle Madonie in particular. It cooperates with universities and with the National Council of Geologists and of the Regional Association of Geologists. The association has established a memorandum of understanding with the Ente Parco delle Madonie for the implementation of activities such as tourism, environmental education and dissemination of scientific knowledge with regard to the geological-archaeological, geological-environmental and anthropological heritage of the district Parco delle Madonie. The association also handles the promotion and the development of the project “European Geopark”, the development and enlargement of the Geological Museum Geopark and the related training of guided visits staff. The association has been handling the set up of the geological hall of Caltavuturo’s city hall - where it is possible to see the enhanced areas of the Geopark delle Madonie – and has realised a geological trail network recognized by the geoparks network.
